Meanwhile Halifax go into the fixture sitting at the bottom of the table having picked up just two wins this season

York City Manager John Askey is optimistic going into the match however also aware that Halifax will pose a threat despite their position in the league.

Also in York City news, the minstermen will face either Clitheroe or Bury away from home in the fourth round of the FA cup.
