Listening to your customers on what beers to offer is part of the recipe for success for a city centre pub in York.

York CAMRA has presented the Bootham Tavern with a plaque in recognition of members voting it York CAMRA’s Spring City Pub of the Season.

Branch chairman Chris Tregellis told the Press: “Some of York's best pubs are to be found just outside the city walls and the cluster of pubs in Bootham is an excellent example. The Bootham Tavern is the centrepiece of this grouping and is a worthy winner of York CAMRA's Spring City Pub of the season.

“It's a busy pub with regular football to watch, live music at weekends and scheduled poker nights, but the beer is the star. What a selection! It regularly offers Farmers Blonde, White Rat, Titanic Plum Porter and Black Sheep so there is something for every taste.”
