'It’s the most uplifting and inspiring event' - author in London Marathon bid

A NORTH Yorkshire writer and anti-drug campaigner is gearing up to run her fourth London Marathon.

Anti-drugs and knife crime advocate Christina Gabbitas is an honorary member of the NSPCC Council and is running in support of NSPCC Childline.

Christina has been working with North Yorkshire Police since early 2021 to address the issues of county lines exploitation and related knife crime.

She has conducted numerous sessions across the county working closely with the schools liaison and neighbourhood policing teams.

The 2025 London Marathon is on Sunday (April 27).

She said: “I’m excited to be taking part in the marathon once again; it’s the most uplifting and inspiring event I have ever participated in.

"Raising funds and awareness to give children and young people a voice 24 hours a day, seven days a week is paramount.”

For the past 12 years, Christina has been supporting the charity, starting with her book Share Some Secrets, which encourages young children to speak up about abuse.

This book has become one of the best-selling titles in the NSPCC online shop, and Christina donates a portion of the proceeds from sales.
