Burglars have targeted a social club in a North Yorkshire town over the Bank Holiday weekend.

North Yorkshire Police said officers were called to Tadcaster Social Club on Monday, May 5 and found significant amounts of internal damage and large amounts of alcohol had been stolen.

A force spokesperson said: “At approximately 6pm on Monday, May 5, youths were seen to disperse from the location of the Tadcaster Social Club and flee down Chapel Street.”

Police said one was wearing an all-grey tracksuit and another and another wearing a pink sweatshirt/ jumper.

Police are appealing for information from the public – if you would like to speak to the force you can do so by calling 101 quoting reference number 12250080075.

The North Yorkshire Police spokesperson added: “This is a local facility many residents enjoy using and such a display of disrespect has now removed this option for many.

“If you have any recollection of suspicious activity in the area, CCTV or other recordings Police would like to speak with you, so please come forward.”
