BAILIFFS have been brought in after a well-known fashion brand closed their York shop.

Jigsaw, an international women’s clothing brand, is currently closed and foreclosure notices have appeared in their Stonegate shop window.

The notices, dated August 11, are addressed to the brand’s parent company Robinson Webster (Holdings) and state that they are acting on behalf of the landlord.

It says that bailiffs Penham Excel have re-entered the premises on behalf of the landlord and the lease is hearby determined.

They added: “Any attempt by you or your agents to enter the premises will result I criminal/civil proceedings being taken against you.”

Jigsaw have been given 14 days to organise collection of the items inside the property before they are removed and sold as necessary.

The upmarket women’s brand has 42 stores across the UK and Ireland, including their York location, and has continued to be active on social media.

On their website, the York store is still listed but the opening times say that it is closed every day.

The Press has contacted Jigsaw for comment and once we receive a reply, we will add it in here.
