The park’s ‘new and improved’ Food Warehouse opened to excited customers at 8am this morning.
Offering more than 10,000 products, spread across six aisles, the shop promises visitors an “all-new” shopping experience.
It was launched by the store manager, who was on hand to gift the first 150 shoppers with £1,500 worth of food vouchers, following a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The store manager is joined by more than 30 of the company’s staff who have moved from its former store, located next door.
The unit has replaced the former Smyths Toys Superstores and joins another The Food Warehouse located at The Foss Islands Retail Park in York.
Speaking about this, group retail director Kristian Barrett, said: “We’re excited to be opening our new York, Clifton Moor store, bringing more market-leading deals and a brilliant range of frozen, grocery and fresh foods to locals.”
The store’s first customers, who were in the queue before 7:30am, were gifted a free raffle ticket to enter a prize draw, with five lucky winners taking part in a supermarket sweep-style challenge before opening hours.
Each customer had the entire store to themselves for 90 seconds, filling their trolley with items of their choosing.
It came as seven additional winners of the draw were presented with Single Drawer Tower Air Fryers, and the winner of a sweet competition, a Daewoo Double Drawer Air Fryer.
