After the encounter with Jess Collinson, the woman now feels wary when she travels by rail or bus and doesn’t like people sitting next to her, said Louise Berry, prosecuting.
Probation officers warn he is showing "opportunistic sexual behaviour".
York magistrates heard that the first woman was wearing sandals without socks when she sat at a table seat on a TransPennine service.
Jess Collinson sat opposite the woman. He was wearing shoes and socks.
Ms Berry said she felt Collinson’s shoe touching her feet. Then he took his shoe off and again touched her feet with his foot.
She asked him to stop, got up and moved towards the front of the train.
“She felt the defendant’s eyes on her all the time and described herself as feeling trapped throughout the situation,” said Ms Berry.
Collinson, 37, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to touching the first woman in a sexual way.
He was jailed for 12 weeks, his second prison sentence this year.
On that occasion, Recorder Peter Makepeace KC warned the risk of him committing serious harm by sexual offences was growing.
York magistrates heard that Collinson was released from prison on licence in mid-March but didn’t attend a meeting with a probation officer, so was recalled to prison to continue serving that sentence until April 15.
