The four-bed home alongside the River Ouse in Earlsborough Terrace is owned by York designer, Ella De Wastney and her husband, Mal, who live nexdoor.
It 'combines the best of old and new', according to agents Prime Residential, and comes with 'proven flood defences' as well as being classed as being a low risk of flooding by the Environment Agency.
Ella, who runs Ella De Wastney Interiors in Gillygate, said: "It's an amazing spot. It's city centre living, but it's so peaceful. You wake up every morning with the river and you get the birds outside.
"We have lived here more than 20 years and it's never been flooded and recently the defences have been significantly upgraded."
The couple previously ran Caffe Dell Opera in King Street and used the property for staff to stay in. It has since undergone a total rennovation.
"We wanted it to be beautiful, because it's a lifestyle living," said Ella.
"We love the house - everything is brand new."
The estate agents say that inside the property boasts an entrance hall, sitting room, kitchen, dining room, principal bedroom with en suite, a second bedroom with en suite, two further bedrooms and a family bathroom.
