Hospitality workers in York have raised more than half a million pounds through a nationwide charity walk.
Walk for Wellbeing, which supports UK charity Hospitality Action, reached the £500,000 milestone through the efforts of thousands of participants since its launch in 2020.
The funds raised help provide mental health and wellbeing support for individuals and families working in the hospitality sector.
Mark Lewis, CEO of Hospitality Action, said: "Walk for Wellbeing is about so much more than walking – it’s about the hospitality community coming together to look after its own.
"The funds raised have a real, lasting impact, helping prevent homelessness, ease financial pressures and support mental health for our colleagues and their families."
York joined the event for the first time this year, with participants walking a 20km route through the city.
