Some Could Pay Less and Others More for HMO Parking Permits Ahead of Decision

Plans to abolish separate parking permits for houses of multiple occupation (HMOs) which could see some residents paying less and others more are set for a decision.

The proposals would move HMOs onto the standard residential parking (ResPark) system where the cost of permits rises by amount and properties are limited to three vehicles

A City of York Council report on the proposals stated they would give HMO residents access to all ResPark spaces within their zone though it would leave some properties with less permits.

But objectors to the proposals stated changes which would leave some residents paying £51 or £337 more a year for permits were unfair.
