The Altra Yorkshire Marathon's 26.2 mile challenge on Sunday 19 October takes in York and its surroundings on a flat and fast scenic route which has become a firm favourite among runners and charity fundraisers.
The Altra Yorkshire Marathon's 26.2 mile challenge on Sunday 19 October takes in York and its surroundings on a flat and fast scenic route which has become a firm favourite among runners and charity fundraisers.
Now in its 12th year, the event has seen more than 100,000 racers take part, many of whom run for worthy causes and a common goal to help others.
More than £7.5m has been raised for charity so far.
Starting and finishing at the University of York, both the marathon and the relay will set off from the University of York at 9.30am and take in York's historic landmarks before heading out into the surrounding countryside, including Stockton on the Forest, Upper Helmsley, Stamford Bridge, Gate Helmsley, Murton and Osbaldwick.
